October 1—31, 2008 “9th Annual National Miniature Show” is a competition open to artists from all over the USA. This
multi-media show gives more than $800 worth of awards. Nationally acclaimed artist and Grand Island native Robert Hanna
will judge the show and conduct a three day workshop on drawing and painting techniques on October 3, 4, and 5. For more
information on entering the show or attending the workshop, click here. Reception is Friday, Oct. 5 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

November 1—30, 2008 “ARTAPLEEZA 3” - The artists of Prairie Winds begin the holiday season with an auction of new works
and gift ideas for everyone’s wish list. The reception is November 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

December 1—31, 2008 “Winter Solstice” - Enter a Christmas Winter Wonderland and enjoy a Holiday Open House on
Sunday, December 7 from noon to 5:00 PM. Silent auction ends on this date.

February 1—28 2009 “9th Annual Regional Photography Competition and Workshop” - Photographers from a multi-state area
compete for over $800 worth of awards. A photography workshop will be held on Saturday, February 2nd by the judge, Bill
Ganzel of Lincoln, Nebraska. Show reception is Friday, February 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.
Skywinds Gallery: “4th Annual HAL-64 Project” - Area middle school High Ability Learning students present their popular show
and competition and join in the Friday evening reception.

March 1—31, 2008 “Spirit of the Cranes” -Award winning wildlife artists, Deb Gengler-Copple, painter, and Jay Lewis,
sculptor, join Prairie Winds artists to celebrate the return of the cranes and spring to the Platte River Valley. Reception is
Friday, March 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.
Skywinds Gallery: The talented art students from Grand Island Senior High will exhibit their works and join in the Friday
evening reception.

April 1—30, 2009 “Spring Elegance” -Prairie Winds artists Dee Spencer Rodgers, Donna Ryan, and Inez Dejmal present their
newest collections of paintings, painted furniture, and decorative glass for home or business. Reception is Friday, April 3 from
5:30 to 8:30 PM.

May 1—31, 2009 “Please Touch” -A journey through touchable 3 dimensional art featuring pottery, wood turnings, woven
baskets, and felted vessels by artists Nancy Fairbanks, Harold Adams, and Jane Marie. Reception is Friday, May 1 from 5:30
to 8:30 PM.

June 1—30, 2009 “From the Heart” - Prairie Winds is proud to present a show featuring recent paintings of Nebraska
landscapes by emerging artists Jenine Wilhelms and Linda Woodward. Reception is Friday, June 5 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

July 1—31, 2009 “The Hookers and Flatwater Floozies” - Area rug makers and quilters show off their wares for the first time
at Prairie Winds. Reception is Friday, July 10 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

August 1—31, 2009 “Art BIG and small” is a unique and exciting show joining adult artists and children to create collaborative
pieces and provide a creative adventure for all ages. This event is iopen to all artists in the area, big and small. Reception is
Friday, August 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

September 1—30, 2009 “Visions Unrestricted” - Abstract colorists, Libby Henry and Amy Petrick, persent their newest visions
in acrylic and mixed media. Reception is Friday, September 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

November 1—30, 2009 “Scenes in Color” introduces the newest creations of dynamic painters Patricia Coslor and Susanne

December 1—31, 2009 “Joyful Celebration” -The artists of Prairie Winds display seasonal art and gifts and invite all of their
friends and relatives to a Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 6 from noon to 5:00 PM.
